About the Degree Programme

Department of Extension Education and Communication Management (EECM) was initially known as Home Science
Extension and Communication Management (HECM).Department started P.G. degree programme in the year 2000 with
the intake capacity of five seats and now intake capacity is seven seats. Department of Extension Education
and Communication Management develops ability and skill among students regarding communication, ICT,
multimedia, extension management, rural development, women empowerment, training etc

Objectives

1. To empower the students to meet the challenges of economic and technological advancement.

2. To impart the viable education in the field of Extension Education and Communication Management and allied
branches.

3. To undertake researches on the technology testing and refinement, capacity building of women, gender
issues, impact assessment of improved household technology, development and testing of media packages, etc.

4. To empower the students to meet the challenges of economic and technological advancement.

Accomplishments

Exposure of students to new techniques and methods related to Home Science/Community Science at the
farm/field level has been provided and awareness is generated among vulnerable/rural groups through
demonstrations, exhibition, trainings and lectures. Awarded M.Sc. degree to 77 students in Extension
Education and Communication Management from 2019-2023.Students of the department have got placements in
different organisations viz., Universities, private organisations, NGO, government organisations on the post
of Extension Experts Lecturers Media persons etc. Good sharing of researches through good number of
publications in national and international journals by staff and students. The students of department have
published more than 15 research papers and abstracts, 04 popular articles, and have attended many
conferences. Faculty members of the department have attended 6 conference, workshops, etc during the period
from 2019 till 2023.

demonstrations, exhibition, trainings and lectures. awarded Ph.D. degree to 9 students in Extension
education and communication Management from 2019-2023 .
