About the Degree Programme

M.Sc. in Human Development & Family Studies was started in the year 1999-2000. Though the programme got
deferred in 2016 due to unavailability of superannuation of staff. Afterwards M.Sc. got restarted in year
2021-22. Presently there are three seats in M.Sc. programme in the department, including one from ICAR.

Objectives

1.Main objective of M.Sc. programme in the department is to undertake teaching and research activities in
Human Development & Family Studies.

2.To prepare the students to develop values, skills, and positive attitude towards life so that they can
accomplish their personal, family, and social responsibilities efficiently.

3.To provide services to many people and help them to make better everyday life, vibrant society, world-class
education, thriving economy, and an ambitious nation.

Accomplishments

Students of the department have got placements in different government (RPSC, university and state government
in different capacities) and private organizations. Students passing various national level competitive
exams of UGC-NET, JRF and other fellowships. Some students going for higher studies passing the competitive
exams.
The students and staff of the department have published more than 20 research papers, popular articles etc 8
book chapters, 3 radio talks, Staff of the department attended more than 10 workshops, conferences, winter
schools and orientation courses etc during the period from 2019-2023.
